Guêlêdê Festival
Date : January 10, 2019 | Place : Pobè, Plateau
With the support of the Arts and Culture Fund (FAC), CACD-NGO organized the Guêlêdê festival on the esplanade in front of the royal palace of Pobè. This event aimed to revive, promote, and celebrate the rich intangible cultural heritage of the community, particularly through traditional Guêlêdê dances, songs, and masks. It provided a platform for expression for local artists and helped stimulate creativity while strengthening social ties between generations. The festival also aimed to raise awareness among the population, particularly young people, of the value of their traditions, to encourage the transmission of cultural knowledge, and to position Pobè as a dynamic center for promoting Beninese culture and identity.
